Abstract
22,565. Honold, R. Oct. 3, 1911, [Convention date]. Combined-flow type; blades.-Relates to an improved form of rotor blade for hydraulic turbines of the Francis type in which the flow is radial in the first part of the blade and axial in the last part. The entrance edge 1i, 1<1>, 1<11>, 1<111>, 1a of the blade first recedes inwards from its initial point 1, and finally expands to a larger radius from the axis of the rotor, as shown. The shaded portions show the parts of the blade and rotor that are cut away according to the invention. The rotor part extending above the point 1, may be replaced by a stator part formed integral with the base of the fixed guide-vanes.
