Boat and raft launching apparatus.-An independently-navigable life-raft B, which may normally serve as a torpedo boat, submarine, air-craft, or mess room according to the nature of the ship, is housed in a transverse gap formed with sloping floors a' and doors a<2>, a<4>. The raft B has rollers b, b<1> for use in launching, and may have a cabin F which may telescope vertically. The raft may be mounted on a pivoted girder ; or it may be in two like portions normally united by bolts and arranged when released to enter the water one on each side of the ship.
