Abstract

21,288. Bowyer, J. E. Sept. 18. Folding brackets. -A folding table, desk, or seat d for use in road vehicles &c. has pivots d' adapted when the seat d is raised to a vertical position to slide in rabbeted grooves b in the frame of the seat. In order to allow the s e a t to be rotated from the vertical to the horizontal position, notches a<7> are cut either in the side members of the seat frame or in the corners of the seat. The seat is held in the horizontal position by the front and rear rails a<3>, a' of the seat frame. Springs or weights may be employed for automatically returning the seat into the frame when out of use. When used as a desk the rails a<3>, a<1> are bevelled to allow the flap d to assume a sloping position.
