Abstract

431,346. Chairs combined with tables. PLESTED, R., 12, Joan Street, Wallsend-on- Tyne. Jan. 4, 1934, No. 339. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iii)] In a chair of the type having a flap permanently hinged to the top rail of the chair back which can be supported in horizontal position to form a table-top, the table a is hinged to the top rail of the chair back so as to lie in front of and against the chair back when out of use, and is supported when in horizontal position by a flap f hinged to its under surface between the front edge of the table and the top rail, the lower corners of the flap engaging in downwardly inclined recesses h in the inner faces of the vertical rails of the chair back. The seat of the chair may comprise a locker k, the lid of which forms the seating surface. In the form shown in Fig. 4, the seat comprises a box n hinged at o so that it can be inverted to lie in front of the chair, resting against rubber buffers p. The lower part of the table a when folded may lie behind the box n. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 378,257.
