Boots and shoes, measuring for.-A fitting- device, for indicating exactly the position to be occupied by buttons on a boot, comprises a bottom plate 1 carrying a bracket 2, which has on each outer face a series of studs 3 intended to engage with the loops of stretching-devices. The foot shod with the boot is placed on a foot-plate 4 mounted on the plate 1. Each stretching-device comprises a rod 5 of rubber or similar material with a loop 6 at one end to engage one of the studs 3, and a connecting-member 7, which can be passed through the button-holes of the boot at the other end. The member 7 is mounted on a plate which either carries a style to prick the leather or is provided with a hole 8 through which a pencil or pin may be pressed to mark the position of the button.
