Jet-wheels.-Steam is admitted by pipes 11 to semi-annular steam-chambers 10, Figs. 1 and 2, whence it passes through stationary inclined nozzles 4, Figs. 2 and 4, to a rotor in which narrow inclined buckets 5 are formed. The inner ends of the buckets 5 are closed by a central plate 14. The steam afterwards exhausts through inclined ports identical with the nozzles 4 to semi-annular steam-chambers 10<a>, whence it is discharged through pipes 12. Reversing.-For reversing, an inner concentric set of nozzles and buckets, inclined in an opposite direction, may be provided.
