Detachable-rim attachments to wheels; tyre attachments to rims.-A detachable rim consists of two flanged rings 4, 6 which are detachably connected by partial rotation of a ring 8 carried by the part 6. The ring 8 is formed with wedge projections 9 adapted to engage with similar projections 7 on a flanged extension 4<y> of the ring 4. The ring 8 may be actuated by a lever pivoted on the part 6 and linked to a projecting lug on the ring. The detachable rim is secured upon the fixed rim by engagement of wedges 13, 3, which is effected by relative rotation of the rims. The parts are locked by means of a plug 20, Fig. 7, which engages between stops 18, 19 on the detachable and fixed rim members respectively and is secured by a nut 17<X>. For actuating the detachable rim, a lever 14, fitting over a stud 15 on the fixed rim member is formed with a toothed end 14<x> adapted to engage recesses 16 in the part 4 of the detachable rim. For securing the tyre to the rim, a band 21, Figs. 8 and 10, shaped to fit between the tyre beads, is formed with overlapping ends. One end 25 abuts against the stop 18 and carries a lug 22 formed with teeth 23 which engage a rack 28 formed on the other end of the band. The band is tightened by means of a removable handlever.
