Apparatus fitted to cranes, derricks, and shear-legs.-A crane, derrick, or shear legs is provided with a haulage cable e, and with an auxiliary cable a passing over co-axial pulleys b, c and both connected to the load. The auxiliary cable is connected to a weighing- apparatus f so that the weight may be ascertained by transferring the load to the cable a. Spring mechanism may be provided for gathering in the slack of the auxiliary cable.
