9438. Hitchcock, A. F. Nov. 22. Detaching from, and attaching to, permanent hubs. In wheels of the kind which are secured to live axles bv bolts passing through holes in an outer plate, the wheel centre, and an axle flange on the inner side of which they are fastened, the bolts b, Fig. 1, are now threaded into the axle-flange a and secured permanently by nuts c and riveting-over the ends d, and are adapted to pass through the existing holes e, Fig. 3, in the wheel centre and outer plate p, being held by nuts screwed on their outer threaded ends b<1>. Some of the bolts may be shortened as at b<2> to act only as driving means, and the plate p may have a lateral boss p<1>.
