110,799. Moore, W. J. P. Nov. 2, 1916. Hubs; detaching from, and attaching to, permanent hubs; disk wheels.-A detachable wheel, applicable for use on driving or steering axles, comprises a centre disk 3 with a flange 3<a> carrying the rim - supporting disks 2, and a flange or sleeve 18 bevelled at 58, 59 to engage the flanges 16, 17 respectively of the permanent hub 9 on which the wheel is detachably secured by bolts and nuts 19, 20. The flange 3<a> may serve as a brakedrum, the brakeelements 30 being enclosed by a separate cover 4 secured to the permanent hub or to the axle. In the case of steering- wheels, the permanent hub is stepped to house the steering-pivot and to form a seating for the sleeve 18. Access to the tyre-valve 25 is obtained through a handhole fitted with a detachable cover-plate 27.
