Abstract

421,914. Mounting vehicle wheels. BROCKHOUSE & CO., Ltd., J., and DEAR, A. T. C., Hill Top, West Bromwich, Staffordshire. Sept. 28, 1933, No. 26666. [Class 108 (ii)] A detachable wheel is adapted to be secured to the vehicle underframe by providing the stub-axle and the underframe with brackets or fixing plates which are secured together by bolts &c. which are accessible from the outside of the wheel. The stub-axle or spindle b upon which the wheel a rotates is provided with a fixing plate c having arms c<1> with bolt holes c<2>. A corresponding bracket e2 is carried by the spring plate e supporting the axle bar and is provided with arms e<4> and bolt holes e<5> and with a boss e<3> to accommodate the extension bl of the stub-axle b. Bolts f connect the bracket and fixing plate, the nuts being tightened by a box spanner or the like.
