Multitubular boilers; partitions in water space; circulation tubes in boiler; conveying steam into water-space. -Relates to an horizontal boiler divided by an internal partition into two chambers, one chamber containing the furnace and the other the flue-tube or tubes. The chambers communicate with each other by one or more tubes opening at the water-level in the chamber receiving the feed-water and passing down into the water in the other chamber, from which the steam is taken. The lowering of pressure in the latter chamber, due to the withdrawal of steam, causes steam and water to pass through the tubes from one chamber to the other. A tube 10 extending horizontally from the partition 4 opens at the water-level in the chamber 5, to which the feed is supplied, and has depending branches 13 which conduct steam and water into the lower part of the chamber 6. The two chambers of the multitubular boiler shown are detachable, and are in communication through an additional tube 9.
