Abstract

22,564. Feeny, V. I. Oct. 12. Latches, sliding.-The latch-bolt a is retained in the striking position while the door is open by means of a lever m, a projection n on which is adapted to engage between a shoulder i on the bolt and a fixed stop k. When the latchbolt is fully withdrawn, it engages the end of a bar t jointed to the lever m, and holds this out of contact with the striking-plate during the opening of the door. The springs for the latch-bolt and detent are mounted on screw pins f inserted from outside the casing to enable them to be replaced easily.
