Latches.-A door-fastening for motor-cars &c. consists of a spring latch 0 operated through a handle-follower G, and formed with two detent notches which are adapted to be engaged by a spring catch L. When the door is slammed, the latch is first pressed back and released from the catch, and is then shot forward by the spring E sufficiently strongly for the first notch to pass the detent-spring, which engages with the second notch.
