Abstract
16,480. Lachaine, J. A. July 18. Cooking-stoves; ovens. - A closed vertical stove is provided with a detachable oven, which is arranged to be readily taken to pieces for transport. The top 7 of the stove is extended rearwards, as shown, over the oven, which is formed by side plates 18, a top plate 20, a bottom 8, and a back plate 23. A plate 9, beneath the plate 8, has grooves 19 formed at three of its edges, in which the side plates 18 and the plate 32, which forms the rear wall of the flue, fit.' The front edges of the plates 20, 8, 9 are shaped to fit the contour of the stove, the latter two being spaced apart at their front edges by a plate 11. The flue behind the oven is divided into three by division walls 33. Products of combustion pass down the side flues, beneath the oven, and up the central flue to the chimney. By opening a damper 29 the gases pass directly to the chimney. The oven is detachably secured to angle-irons 43 on the stove body. When a fire is desired for cooking only, a grate 47 suspended on hangers 48 is used.
