9759. Bittmann, H. April 23, 1910, [Convention date]. Charging. - A fuel - distributing device for furnaces and gas - producers comprises an inclined shoot a rotatable about, and having its outlet at or near, the central axis of the furnace. The shoot has a flat bottom and is flared towards its outer end, and a portion, preferably triangular, is cut out from its lower end to form an opening c through which the fuel falls towards the centre of the furnace bed. The materials are fed from a hopper f on to an inclined rotary plate e, and the supplies are regulated by a vertically-adjustable sleeve h. Suitable water or like seals are provided between the fixed and moving parts of the apparatus.
