Abstract

23,641. Beskow, K. J., and BamÚn, A. Aug. 24, [Convention date]. Charging.-In a roasting - furnace with mechanical agitators mounted on a vertical rotary shaft 3, the materials are delivered from a hopper 6 on to a table 5 rotating with the shaft 3, and are thence fed at the desired rate into shoots 12 leading to the furnace by adjustable scrapers 10. A sleeve 7 of the hopper 6 can be adjusted to regulate the feed on to the table, and an eccentrically mounted pin 15 may be provided to agitate the materials in the hopper. Counterweighted flaps 14 may be fitted in the shoots.
