Metallic spring bodies and cores. -Tyres formed of rings or coils of spirally-coiled wire A, Fig. 1, placed end to end around the felloe, are made of wire of tubular section. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the part of each coil at the felloe is of plain or uncoiled tubular wire, which facilitates the attachment of the tyre by means of a band c. A thin tread-band H may be applied. The tyre may be placed inside an ordinary pneumatic tyre cover, and it may be padded or internally supported by soft material.
