3362. Williams, W. S., and Jones, E. Feb. 9. Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and metal springs other than helical and volute springs.-Laminated springs b of broad U-shape, fitted so as to rock at their centres on the inner rim a, are connected at their ends to bars e, sliding on the inside of the outer rim c, by coiling one or more of their laminations to fit in cylindrical recesses g in the rods. The springs are provided with radial projections p, preferably formed in one with the bolts for holding the laminations together, which fit into outwardlytapered recesses in the inner rim. The bars c are kept against the outer rim by rollers h, in one or more parts, bearing on their overlapping ends, the rollers being held by bolts i through side plates secured by bolts m to brackets k on the outer rim. The outer rim is provided with stops bearing, through springs o, on the ends of some of the bars e.
