Abstract

13,457. Tichenor, L. E., and Tichenor Spring Wheel Co. June 2. Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and helical and volute springs.-Relates to wheels of the kind in which telescopic tubular casings containing springs such as 10, 11, Figs. 1 and 2, are fixed to blocks 13, 22 pivoted respectively between hub flanges 4 and ring- plates 7 secured to the rim. The blocks 13 are formed with flanges 16 bearing on the hub flanges 4 and with other flanges 17 overlapped by stirrup-like plates 33, Fig. 3, which are pivoted to the hub between the spokes and act as mud-guards. Plates 29, Fig. 4, fitted around the outer blocks 22 slide upon and cover the spaces between the ring-plates 7 of angle-section and the ends of filler-sections 26.
