Stopping pipes.-A stopper or plug for closing apertures and plugging receptacles, pipes, portholes, and the like has a seat A with lugs and notches, a threaded stopper or plug C which is adapted to be let into the seat A and may be turned by a key F, and a nut E with lugs adapted to coact by a bayonet-joint action with the lugs and notches on the seat A. A stud or stop on the seat limits the turning movement of the nut E. A retaining-screw H on the stopper prevents the nut E from escaping from the stopper.
