Abstract

2808. Bower, J. Feb. 5. Lift valves ; repairing, facilitating ; seats.-A combination of valves to facilitate repairs comprises two separate, oppositely - disposed, screw - down valves seating on two separate removable seatings secured in a common casing. The valves, which have a seating on the back so as to make a tight joint with the cover when fully open, are attached to their spindles J by a nut N, engaging an enlarged end on the spindle and screwed into a recess on the back of the valve. The seats are provided with projections C and recesses E to engage with a key D to facilitate screwing into place. [Reference has been directed under Section 7 of Patents &c. Act, 1907, to Specifications Nos. 227 and 2994, A.D. 1875, and No. 5114, A.D. 1886, and No. 22,472, A.D. 1902.]
