11,942. Schmidt, F. May 25. Plug cocks; actuating cocks.-A safety tap for liquids or gases is constructed to be closed by turning the handle as usual, but to be opened only by a special lever handle. The plug b, Figs. 2 and 4, is provided with a slot, against the end of which the operating-pin e on the handle c engages in closing the tap, the handle being free to turn in the opposite direction when the cock is closed. The tap is opened by means of a lever handle g secured by a screw to the plug.
