Abstract

4275. Bablon, R. Feb. 23, 1912, [Convention date]. Plug cocks; actuating.-In a plug cock comprising a tapered plug 2 pressed to its seat by a spring 14 to take up wear, the rotatable operating-handle 3 engages a vertical recess in the top of the plug and has fingers 6 engaging in a groove 18 in a part 4 integral with the casing or screwed to it, as shown. The upper flange of the groove 18 is slotted to allow the fingers 6 to pass, and the plug is provided with a pin 11 which works in a gap 9, 10 in the circular top projection 8 to limit the rotation of the handle from the full-open to the closed positions of the plug. The spring 14 is disposed in the plug between the handle and the plug.
