Furniture, means to facilitate moving bodily.-In surgical tables having castors and feet of the kind described in Specification 13,107/99, which may be raised and lowered alternately by levers, to permit the table to be held rigid or moved respectively, the feet H slide in the legs b<1> of the lower part of the table frame, and are fitted with pins h<2> passing through slots in the legs and engaging slots in arms I mounted on cross-shafts J. The cross-shafts J are connected by links j<1>, j<2>, and are operated through links k<3>, i<1> by a cranked handle K, the movement of which is limited by stops k<4>, k<5>. The slots in the legs are covered by sliding plates h<3>. The cranked handle K moves beyond the deadcentre to its extreme positions, and thus prevents the legs or castors from being lowered accidentally.
