703,579. Folding tables. DYKES, Ltd. J., and DYKES, N. Oct. 30, 1952 [Oct. 31, 1951], No. 25472/51. Class 52(3) In a gate-leg table having double gatelegs a sliding member carried by the underside of each hinged leaf is operatively connected to a pair of gate-legs so that by pulling out or pushing in the member both gate-legs are operated in unison. As shown, leaves b, b are hinged to a central fixed top a supported by fixed legs and are supported in horizontal position by double gate-legs d, d each of which has a horizontal rail e carried by a vertical post f pivotally supported between lugs g projecting from a cabinet c formed by the fixed legs. A member j having a handgrip k slides between guides i and is pivoted to a crosss-piece m having slots n which engage pins o projecting from the rails e. In operation a leaf is raised and the member j pulled forward to advance the crosspiece and rotate the gate-legs simultaneously to the leaf-supporting position. In a modification the cross-piece may carry the pins which operate in slots in the rails of the gate-legs.
