Abstract
640,805. Seats. SOLOTOY, P. Aug. 30, 1948, No. 22834. [Class 52 (ii)] In a reclining chair of the kind having a hinged back angularly adjustable and wherein the arms of the chair are connected to the back and movable therewith, the arms 11 are pivoted to the back 10 at 12 and are slidable on the tops of the frame members 13 the arms 11 having a groove 20 on its undersurface within which a rail 15 connecting the members 13 is relatively slidable. The groove 20 is closed by a plate 16 arranged below the rail 15 and a latch 17 is ar ranged on the plate 16 and engages one of a series o apertures in the rail 15 The latch which is spring- controlled permits sliding movement of the arm 11 in one direction only, movement in the other direction being possible when the latch is manually released.
