Class 52(ii)] The base 1 of a seat can rotate on a vertical pivot 4 on a sub-frame 3 slidably connected to the rotatable head portion of a pedestal 8 and tiltable forwardly about pivots 16, when the seat is vacated, by means of a compression spring 20 housed in the pedestal. Detents 22 on the seat slides 15 engage notches 23 on the pedestal head 8 to prevent sliding when the seat tips. A pivoted lever 24 may be provided to control the sliding movement.
