13,332. Stocker, J. J. June 1. Impeller blades and casings, centrifugal-fan. The impeller blades move in a circular passage open to the atmosphere and in a chamber into which air is compressed. This chamber has a guide-plate 12. The impeller blades are built up of an angle-piece, one face of which is substantially in a radial plane, a wood filling-piece 27, and a curved metal backing 26, and are supported between two rings 21 on two spiders 20. A fixed shield 16, together with the basepiece 10, forms a compression chamber 8, and a housing 13 may be added if desired. The housing is open to atmosphere, so that for part of the circumference the blades run in unconfined air.
