Abstract

1408618 Axial-flow compressors INGERSOLL-RAND CO 3 Nov 1972 [17 March 1972] 5969/75 Divided out of 1408615 Heading F1C The subject-matter of this Specification is identical with that described in Specification 1408615 but the claims are concerned with a compressor comprising vaned stator means replaceably fixed to the compressor housing and co-operating with radially bladed rotor means for compressing gas within an annular compression chamber defined by the housing and extending along the axis of the rotor shaft means, the rotor shaft means supporting the rotor means at only one end of the latter to provide cantilevered mounting of the latter within the chamber, and the rotor means having a plural-lobe portion for connection to the rotor shaft means, all lobes having a common curvature and length but being generated from different radial centres.
