Abstract

11,727. Hope & Sons, H., and Deathridge, A. May 11. Stays. -Relates to stays for casement windows or fan-lights of the kind which are hinged along their bottom edges, and to that class of stay which can be readily disengaged from the casement &c. to allow the casement to be turned completely down for cleaning purposes. An arm c pivoted to the frame a carries a pivoted socket e, which slidably engages a pendulous arm f pivoted to a bracket g on the casement b. The arms c, f are of such a length and are pivoted to the frame and casement respectively at such points that, when the casement is closed, and the arm f is turned about its pivot, the arm c is disengaged from the arm f and can then be turned about its pivot so that the socket e lies above the top of the casement, and the casement is free to be turned down.
