Abstract

8925. Carvell, G. April 13. Soldering.-In a gasheated soldering iron the gas and air supplies are fed to a burner C through concentric tubes B, A, to which the bit D is connected by a sleeve E, having a number of arms F so as to allow of the admission of extra air to complete the combustion. The iron has a recess G from which lead outlet holes H through which hot gases and no actual flame pass so as to heat the work before it comes in contact with the iron. Specification 22,539/05 is referred to. According to the Provisional Specification flames pass through the outlet holes. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 8540/87 and 24,613/02.
