Abstract
2432. Felten & Guilleaume-Lahmeyer Werke Akt.-Ges. Feb. 1, 1909, [Convention date]. Current detectors; current, registering duration of ; indicating-appliances.-An indication that an incandescent or other electric lamp has been used is obtained by utilizing some physical or chemical effect of the passage of current. Material a sensitive to light may be placed in the stem of a lamp, for instance paper coloured with tosul red, or a porous material such as felt, wadding, or cottonwool impregnated with the sensitive material ; or the fusion, vaporization, or expansion of materials may be utilized. The duration of the current is indicated by the degree of discoloration &c., or by several devices of different sensitiveness, such as a series of strips of sensitised paper. The Specification in the original form, as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a), comprises also the application of the invention to vacuum tubes and other current - consuming apparatus ; and the use of a magnetic effect of the current to give an indication, and of sulphate of iodine as the light sensitive substance. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
