Abstract
409,488. Discharge lamps. SOC. ANON. POUR LES APPLICATIONS DE L'ELECTRICITE ET DES GAZ RARES ETABLISSEMENTS CLAUDE, PAZ, ET SILVA, (formerly SOC. ANON. POUR LES APPLICATIONS DE L'ELECTRICITE ET DES GAZ RARES, ANCIENS ETABLISSEMENTS G. CLAUDE), 8, Rue Cognacq Jay, Paris. March 7, 1933, No. 6935. Convention date, Jan. 9. Addition to 404,271. [Class 39 (i).] A lamp according to the parent Specification is disposed in a magnetic field produced by a winding having a magnetic core and energized from a source of current of high frequency not exceeding the maximum produced industrially by an alternator, for example 30,000 cycles a second. As shown the winding 3 and core 5 are arranged inside a cylindrical sleeve 2 extending into a spherical envelope 1. The core may be thin radial strips or wires, or powdered metal agglomerated by insulating material. The source may be an alternator or a triode. In another lamp the winding is mounted around the envelope. The filling is xenon or krypton or a mixture of these gases at a pressure of a few tenths of a millimeter.
