Lever-actuated pumps ; stroke, varying.-Relates to governing-mechanism for internal-combustion engines of the kind in which a second lever, interposed between an operating-lever and the plunger of the fuel-pump, is adjusted by the governor so as to vary the stroke given to the plunger, as described in connexion with admission-valve gear in Specification 13,584/06, [Class 7, Air and gas engines]. The invention consists in connecting the end 4 of the second lever 3 to the governor by means of an eccentric 6, or, in a modification, by means of a screw and nut, or right and left handed screws and nuts. The lever 3 is pivoted at 4 to the eccentric strap 5; and the end 4 is raised or lowered when the eccentric 6 is rotated by the governor, thus varying the stroke given to the plunger 1.
