Lever-actuated pumps; stroke, varying. -The period of injection of a fuel pump for an internalcombustion engine is varied by varying the point at which the lever d, actuating the plunger g, is struck by rollers c carried by the straps b of eccentrics a. The variation is effected by turning a shaft j i carrying an arm i connected by links h to the straps b. The stroke may be adjusted also by a screw m abutting against the lever in line with the plunger. The lever d is pivoted on an eccentric journal on the shaft c and is connected to the governor, so that when the speed of the engine exceeds the normal, the lever d is withdrawn out of reach of the rollers c.
