Actuating by pulsating fluid pressure; stroke, varying.-The plunger-rod of an oil pump for an internal-combustion engine is fixed to a spring-pressed piston 32 mounted in a cylinder, one side of which is open to the atmosphere and the other connected by a valved pipe 34 to the suction side of the engine, the variation in the suction operating the pump. The stroke is varied by means of a governor or handactuated wedge 30.
