Abstract

23,279. Caminada, P. Oct. 12. Current motors; rotors.-A movable dam comprises a floating water - wheel, the depth of immersion of which is regulated by the introduction of ballast. A hollow drum 29, provided with hinged or sliding paddles 30 and partitions 39, is mounted on a hollow shaft 34 which is supported by bearings movable in vertical grooves 35 in side walls 36. For the purpose of varying the depth of immersion of the wheel, ballast, such as water, may be introduced and discharged through the hollow shaft 34, which, together with the tube 37, is suitably perforated.
