Abstract

165,339. Rebman, J. J. July 6, 1926. Current motors.-A current motor comprises a number of water-wheels supported by pontoons, the shaft of each wheel being mounted in an adjustable bearing on one pontoon and extending through the adjustable bearing on the next pontoon to drive a power element located therein. The last pontoon has consequently a bearing-block available for the addition of another section. The bearing-blocks 6 are pivotallv mounted in adjustable sliding frames 3 on both sides of the pontoons. The shafts 7 carrying the water wheels 8 extend through one bearing in each pontoon and have secured to them pulleys 9 which drive dynamos 12 in each pontoon. Upright trusses 13 rigidly connect the pontoons and a guard 14 prevents rubbish reaching the wheels. Bulkheads 15 divide each pontoon into compartments.
