Apparatuses For Generation Of Mechanical Vibrations
(AREA)
Abstract
8712. Delieuvin, M. P. A. April 25. Foundations.-To deaden: vibration &c., an electric generator set comprising a prime-mover m and a dynamo d is mounted upon a floating caisson f disposed within a sheet-metal tank b, the water in which is employed also to cool the prime-mover and the exhaust gases therefrom. The caisson is centred by rubber buffers or springs t so as to emerge slightly above the surface of the water, and is preferably partitioned off into compartments, in which is placed sand or other heavy material serving as ballast. The tank b is mounted on two longitudinal bars e resting on the ground, and for large installations is replaced by a hollow vat or basin in the ground lined with cement.
