Abstract
16,249. Soc. d'Exploitation des Appareils Rateau. July 24, 1908, [Convention date]. Working-fluid supply; regulating.-The nozzle segment or segments are divided into two or more separate concentric rings, respectively adapted to receive steam at different pressures and to direct separate currents of steam, either one of them alone or both simultaneously, into the same vanes of the rotor, if the turbine has only one, or into the same vanes of the first rotor if the turbine has more than one. In the example shown, the turbine is normally driven by low-pressure or exhaust steam issuing from a chamber g through nozzles d. When desired, high-pressure steam can be admitted to a chamber h and be directed on to the rotor by the supplementary nozzles e.
