Breech actions, drop-down barrel.-Relates to the cocking-mechanism of drop-down guns and consists in mounting the cocking-lever 8, Fig. 2, upon a pin 9 and pivoting the cocking-lever directly to the cocking-rod 2, which rod also acts as the main-spring rod. The rod 2 is directly pivoted to the hammer. The part 11 of the cocking-lever 8 engages the inclined part 14 of the fore end, and, when the gun is opened, the hammer is pulled into bent. The loose collar 4<a> on the rod 2 engages an abutment 4 on the action body. The tension of the main spring is adjusted by means of the nut 5. The action body has open sides, and the hammer, cocking-rod, and cocking-lever are assembled before being placed in position.
