Ignition Installations For Internal Combustion Engines
(AREA)
Abstract
25,782. Fish, F. G. Nov. 30. Movable-abutment type.-A watercooled rotary compressor, having a rotary abutment delivers a charge of gas and air through a compression valve to a water-cooled rotary engine of the same type on the same shaft, the inlet, compression and exhaust valve, and the ignition device being operated by a cam-shaft geared to the main shaft. The two water-cooled cylinders a, a', which are connected by a valve f<1>, contain each an abutment c'and a drum c fitted with a vane c<3>. Air and gas are admitted by a valve g to the cylinder a, which compresses the charge and delivers it through the valve f<1> to the cylinder a<1>, where ignition is effected by a device h, exhaust finally taking place by the valve k. The valves and tar ignition device are operated by a cam shaft i, which is geared to the intermeshing spur - wheels e on the drum and abutment sbafts. Passages 1,2, 3, 4 conduct water to internal passages 6, 7 in the rotors.
