Blowpipe burners.- Relates to burners such as oxygen - acetylene burners for plate welding, and consists in adapting such burners to work of varying size. Parallel chambers a, b, for acetylene &c. and oxygen respectively, open into a transverse chamber c,. the oxygen nozzle d being in alinement with the mixing- nozzle f and mouthpiece m. The outlet from the acetylene &c. chamber is formed in an interchangeable nozzle or plate k with a piece of gauze in front of it. Within a limited range of work, it is only necessary to alter the oxygen pressure and fit a mouthpiece of suitable size, while for a wider alteration the plate k is changed for one with a different aperture. Ready access to the interior for this and other purposes is obtained by screwed caps i. The gas pipes enter the chambers a, b at right-angles.
