Blowpipe burners.-In the process of severing or perforating heated metal' plates by means of an oxygen blowpipe in which a number of streams of heating-gas are provided, the oxygen is sent through a central aperture c, and the heating-gas passes through a number of passages d, the end of the oxygen outlet e being nearer the work than the gas outlets, as shown in Fig. 3. The outlets d may be larger on the side towards which the blowpipe moves, and they may be on that side only as shown in Figs. 4 and 5.
