10,954. Parker, C. C. May 10. Capsule closures and the like.-The tongues 10 of a metal blank are bent at right-angles to the centre part 9, as shown in Fig. 5, and then coiled up, Fig. 6. The cap is then placed upon the mouth of the bottle 14, Fig. 2, and the tongues are uncoiled partly so as to engage the shoulder 15 and retain the sealing-disk 13. A square metal blank may be employed, the corners 16', Fig. 8, being coiled up and utilized in the same manner as the tongues 10. Irregularity in the shape of the shoulder 15 is stated not to interfere with the security of the seal.
