Abstract

6685. Jensen, C. A , [Fraunhofen, Freiherr Carl Alfred. von Soden and Daimler Motoren Ges.]. March 20. Gas or explosive-vapour engines, carburetting in. The air inlet of a spray carburettor is controlled by a suction-operated throttle valve opening against a spring or weight the resistance of which increases with the suction, and in an increasing ratio. The spring may take various forms, and is in each case adjustable. Figs. 1 and 2 show an arrangement in which a helical spring i of varying pitch is used to resist the opening of the throttle valve c, the spring being supported between two cylinders g. Fig. 9 shows an arrangement in which a cam t attached to the throttle valve lifts an adjustable weight carried by a bent lever u. In other arrangements, a leaf spring pressing upon a cam, or a disk of varying thickness rotating between springs, is used.
