Abstract
26,793. Le Quesne, W. Dec. 22. Windows; window holders.-Sliding sashes are hinged at e<2> to strips which are supported by vertical rods or tubes c, c<1> sliding in tubes a, a'. The rods &c. c, c<1> travel on balls or rollers, and are balanced by the weights l. The strip e, supporting the top sashf, is cranked to slide on a second strip. The top sash may be provided with a vertical plate with holes engaged by a thumb-screw o<1> on the bottom sash f The sash f may also carry a bolt which can be shot into recesses in the window frame. The sashes are retained in the sliding position by studs, carrying rollers h which pass along horizontal slots j in the window frame and into or out of vertical recesses or boxes i. Suitable flanges k and recesses on the sashes and the boxes i work together when the sashes are in the sliding position.
