Window frames. - A window having metal frames which slide up and down in metal jambs comprises a vertical T-iron a, Fig. 3, fixed in each side wall and carrying, for the upper sash or casement, a flange or angle-iron a' and an angle-iron g laterally adjustable by means of slots and screws, and for the lower sash or casement, a clamping-strip h and an adjustable angle-iron n,. The casements are of the kind described in Specification 7185/11. The sliding frames c, j are provided with rollers f, m, and bronze strips a<3> c<1>, h<2>, j<1> are fitted to the wearing-edges of the sliding frames and guides. The sashes balance each other and are fitted with meeting-plates q, Fig. 2; a cast-iron sill r. bolted to the lower ends of the T-irons, is formed with a draining-hole r<1>.
