Inverted incandescent gas lamps; street lamps; lanterns reflectors.-The burner tube of an inverted lamp is surrounded by a tube b arranged in the flue e and connected to lateral air-inlet pipes f. The outer air supply passes between a bell h and the roof of the lantern and thence round the outer periphery of a convex reflector m to the mantle, and the inner air supply passes through the pipes f to the burner. Perforations in the mantle support c allow the combustion products to escape to the flue e from inside the mantle.
